Beat blank-caption syndrome
You’ve got the perfect photo or Reel ready — and then you stare at the empty caption box. Captions matter: they give context, invite comments and tell the algorithm what your post is about. A good caption can turn a passive viewer into a follower.
These templates are proven caption structures with blanks for you to fill. Each one includes a hook, a clear message and a call to action, so you get the benefits of copywriting formulas without starting from scratch.
How to use the caption templates
- Choose a category or browse all templates.
- Search for a keyword such as “recipe”, “save” or “product”.
- Edit the text directly in the box — use Highlight blanks to jump to the next [bracket].
- Copy and paste into Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or LinkedIn.
- Add hashtags from the Hashtag Generator.
The anatomy of a high-performing caption
- Hook (line 1): a bold statement, question or promise — it’s all people see before “more”.
- Value (body): the tip, story or details, broken into short lines.
- Call to action: ask people to comment, save, share or tap the link in your bio.
- Hashtags: up to five relevant tags at the end on Instagram.
Saves and shares are some of the strongest signals for reach, so “Save this for later” and “Send this to a friend who…” are powerful calls to action for educational posts.
Match the caption to the content
Educational carousels benefit from list-style captions that summarise the slides. Personal posts perform best with short stories and vulnerability. Promotional posts need one clear offer and one action. Selfies and aesthetic posts can use short, punchy one-liners — browse the Selfie / aesthetic category for those.
💡 Check length and hashtag count with the Caption Counter before posting.
