Turn a vague goal into a daily target
“Reach 10K followers this year” sounds motivating but is hard to act on. Breaking it into a daily or weekly target makes it concrete: you can see whether today’s post moved you forward and adjust quickly if you fall behind.
This calculator works out the linear daily, weekly and monthly targets, the compound monthly growth rate you would need, and — if you enter your current daily gain — when you’re on track to hit the goal at your present pace.
How to use the calculator
- Enter your current follower count.
- Enter your goal, such as 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000.
- Choose a goal date.
- Optionally add your recent average daily gain — followers gained in the last 30 days divided by 30.
- Read your targets and the milestone dates for 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the way.
What is a realistic growth rate?
Monthly growth of under 5% is very achievable for most active accounts. 5–12% is achievable with consistent posting and a clear niche. 12–25% is ambitious and usually needs viral content, collaborations or paid promotion. Above that, plan for a breakout moment rather than relying on steady growth.
Small accounts can grow faster in percentage terms because each new follower is a bigger share of the total. As you grow, absolute daily gains usually rise even as the percentage slows.
Strategies to hit your follower goal
- Post consistently with a plan from the Content Calendar Generator.
- Prioritise shareable formats — Reels, TikToks and carousels.
- Optimise your profile with a clear bio and recognisable profile picture to convert visitors.
- Collaborate with creators in your niche.
- Track weekly and adjust what isn’t working.
