How much do influencers get paid?
There is no official price list for sponsored content, which is why so many creators undercharge. A common starting point in the industry is around $10 per 1,000 followers for an Instagram post, roughly $5–10 per 1,000 on TikTok and about $20 per 1,000 subscribers for a YouTube integration. From there, rates move up or down depending on how engaged the audience is, how valuable the niche is to advertisers and what the brand is asking for.
This calculator applies those factors to give you a realistic price range. It is a negotiation starting point, not a guarantee — but it helps you avoid quoting far too low.
How to estimate your rate
- Choose the platform.
- Enter your followers and your engagement rate (use the Engagement Rate Calculator if you’re not sure).
- Select your niche — finance, tech and business attract the highest budgets.
- Pick the content type — Reel, carousel, Story set, TikTok video or YouTube integration.
- Add usage rights if the brand wants to run your content as ads, and set how many deals you expect per month.
What affects influencer pricing
- Engagement: a highly engaged small audience can be worth more than a passive large one.
- Niche: audiences in finance, tech and B2B are more valuable to advertisers.
- Audience location: UK, US, Canadian and Australian audiences typically command higher rates.
- Deliverables: scripting, filming, editing and revisions take time — price them in.
- Usage rights and exclusivity: allowing a brand to use your content in ads or blocking competitors should cost extra.
Bundles (e.g. one Reel plus three Stories) are common and are usually priced slightly below the sum of their parts.
Tips for negotiating brand deals
Have a simple media kit with your follower count, engagement rate, audience demographics and examples of past work. Quote a range rather than a single number, ask about the brand’s budget first, and always get deliverables, deadlines, usage rights and payment terms in writing. In the UK and many other countries, sponsored posts must be clearly labelled as ads.
⚠️ Estimates only. This calculator does not constitute financial advice; actual rates depend on the brand, campaign and market.
